With Dan Tucker and Kevin Coleman Produced by Susan Lindsey and Paul Meyer
Love Your Waterfront is your gateway to all the wonderful aspects of Whatcom County’s waterfronts: the history, the thriving businesses and the unique art and culture of the Salish Sea that make this an extraordinary place to live. The waterfronts of Whatcom County is also part of the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area, as designated by congress and the National Park Service.
About The Production Crew
Dan Tucker was a traditional-rig sailor and guided eco-adventure tours by boat in Alaska before settling in Bellingham. He now helps manage programming at the Whatcom Working Waterfront Coalition, where his experience in the maritime industry can blend with his previous design and computer background to help advocate for our maritime trades and industries.
Kevin Coleman is the Program Director for Bellingham SeaFeast. Kevin is also an active community member working on building community bridges for a stronger Whatcom County. He is an artist and believes in giving back to those groups and organizations that need to be uplifted. The key to success is collective collaborations to amplify all voices and is glad to have an outlet with KMRE88.3 to share all happening on our waterfront. His motto is “Be the ripple of positivity.”
“Love Your Waterfront” producer Susan Lindsey has been volunteering with KMRE for three years. She started creating “Coronavirus Stories” during the pandemic, moved on to produce over a dozen “Backyard Reporter” episodes, and is now part of the KMRE news staff. Susan is part owner of a 41-foot sailboat in charter with San Juan Sailing and Yachting in Squalicum Marina, Her sailing journeys have taken her throughout the Salish Sea and up into Canadian waters, and to the British Virgin Islands. It also means she has more knowledge about marine toilets than a healthy person should have.
Paul Meyer is a recent transplant to Bellingham and has jumped right into the maritime scene, as he retired from the Port of Seattle just last year. He’s already a competitive rower on Bellingham Bay and looks forward to covering more of the recreational side of Bellingham’s waterfront.
