Business Sponsor Outreach Representative
KMRE is a non-commercial, non-profit, community radio station. We depend on donations in the form of underwriting from local Business Sponsors. We are seeking a Business Sponsor Outreach Representative to secure donations from Whatcom County businesses. When a business sponsors KMRE by making a donor contribution, KMRE provides on-air acknowledgements of support from that business.
Responsibilities of the Business Sponsor Outreach Representative:
- Provide outreach to local businesses to inform them of KMRE’s mission & vision, programming, and sponsor opportunities at KMRE
- Review underwriting/sponsorship opportunities at KMRE
- Review Business Sponsor agreement with Sponsor and ensure agreement is signed by Sponsor and KMRE
- Write Sponsor Mention copy, ensuring compliance with FCC guidelines for non-commercial radio stations
- Provide signed agreement and sponsor mention copy to KMRE Director of Programming, for review, approval, and production of on-air Sponsor Mention
- Serve as primary point of contact with Business Sponsor for duration of Sponsor Agreement
- Follow-up with Business Sponsor on any unpaid invoices to ensure Sponsor Agreement s honored
- Utilize KMRE Customer Relation Manager (CRM) software to store business contact information and status of relationship with KMRE. All contacts must be stored in the KMRE CRM system.
Qualities of the Business Sponsor Outreach Representative:
- Friendly, personable, comfortable “cold calling” businesses
- High level of integrity
- Good attention to detail
- Able to write basic copy (training in FCC guidelines provided)
- Able to utilize software applications (training in our Customer Relationship Manager software provided, but you should be comfortable and experienced with cloud based software)
- Responsible
- Good communicator – with Sponsors and KMRE staff
- “Go Getter” mentality
